So I wanna make few comments on the latest revamp of alchemy and few other stuff.



Firstly, old ingredient system was a mess, and new revamp is aiming exactly at structuring it in some way. Basically, now you are able to either farm ingredients you need by hunting stuff (early game) or get it after acquiring right girls (objective). It still does not really balance all essences in-between, I believe, but at least it makes them prevalent. I'd want to apply similar revamps to other systems, mainly laboratory and spells, and I probably would, if releasing few fixes wasn't so crucial (it is quite a pain really having no dedicated testers/losing them after some time while also caring about not breaking game's version).

So laboratory currently needs more planning plus an actual options to change PCs body. I will likely try to address it in next version, although it is also big work. Most important stuff I want to fix though, is sexual scenes inconsistency, which should also reflect on lab upgrades. While I relatively happy on spell effects, its clear mana is too abundant and mana/sex/energy need corrections. I had some ideas on limiting amount of maximum mana and such and making PC character leveling to unlock more utility, but that's bit too much for my current scales to balance.

I think next update will really focus on whole sex+residents+lab balance. What I'd like to have is bit of tight position on making mana (and other resources in general) more scarce. Then through upgrades and management you'd be able to turn your girls into something bigger. Like an upgrade, which will make normal human girl to produce magic essence (and a way to automatically extract those essences) or more mana, or something else. Speaking of which, powerful spellcasting could use bit more resources as well, but that is more of survival gameplay elements, takes a lot of my time, but not really looked up by many, so let's talk about sex and girls in general.

It's pretty disappointing that I'd have to scrap current scenes for short ones, but that is probably the only way I can ensure consistency at this point + reflect on all unique traits, modifications and characters, which is, what I believe, counts a lot. Lastly, I do want to try fill in Cali's quest into next update at least, but that may take some more time to complete and develop, as writer, which developed 80% of it seems to be gone.

  1. Can we get the girls to do more damage next patch? The ability to lower damage taken is much different then increasing damage given. Otherwise with the mana cap nerf being able to go out and get girls is much too hard on the player since not only is the player dependant on healing spell for even just two tries. Especially with the new catch rate nerf. The later zones have strong hitting opponents whereas our damage is still just scratching their hp.

    If you change mana management, please seriously look at how it will affect combat and the time player now has to devote to related issues.

    2. Could you allow the Tentacles spell to be usable in combat as a grappling effect on the opponent?

    3. Try using the Daze spell, even when your companion isn't ensnared.

  2. I tried to change some of the images and noticed that even though there are files for health, obedience and stress in the buttons folder they are not referenced in the code. Instead the raw data for the images is coded into the html-file.

    It wasn't a difficult issue to fix but I figured I'd report it since it doesn't seem to be intentional.

    When Sebastian provides you with the materials you get the following:
    "You recieved Minorus Concoction, Fluid Substance, 2 27"

    2 27?

    On a related note with the alchemy rework I'm somewhat surprised you didn't use Seraphs and Elves to generate 'pure essence' which can be use for cleansing potions, healing potions, and calming potions.

    Something that could've been neatly worked into Dolin's quest decisions at the end.

  4. Oh yeah, don't know if it is intended, but Wolfkin and Half-Wolfkin's racial can drop Courage with the refined brand. Racial states refined brand causes courage GROWTH capped by Will, but if will is less than courage then the courage stat will fall instead. Cali is a prime example of this as her courage will drop from 4 to 3 if you use the refined brand when you get her.

  5. Bug:
    More issues with survival skill. It seems like the level of survival can be detrimental if it gets too high.
    Example: At Apprentice the Cougar encounter is avoidable in the highlands as a 'hostile entity' detected while at Journeyman it turns into an automatic fight.

  6. Bug:
    The automatic description of children when they are born seems to be broken somewhere. Neried children as born with spider legs, but when grown up they are normal Neried.

  8. I've been kind of curious, the selection menu from the apairy suggests you might be planning more things you can subject your hapless servants to besides manaworms?

  9. In my most recent play, I've been unable to get fluid essence. Originally, you could get that from H with human girls, but now, nothing. Also, my main girl has Journeyman in survival, but 9/10 times, the potential captures get away. Any ideas, anyone?

    1. Captures are based on body control.
      For fluid essence you can check tooltip at alchemy room.

    6. I am in 0.6.6.4, and I did cursor over said words, but nothing comes up. Also, all other ingredents worked fine, but I can't get fluid substance.

  10. Why won't you test it in another browser? Chrome and Comodo Dragon display tooltips without any problems.
